During a disaster, every second saved in rescue operations can save many lives. However, the types and effects of disasters globally are only getting wider and more complex with time as our world’s population grows. Governments around the world have been putting efforts to find new ways to make disaster response and rescue operations more effective and efficient. To this end, the National Disaster Management Authority has developed a well-designed National Disaster Management Guideline for Incident Management, but its implementation still needs technology support to be effective. During disaster recovery, government agencies like NDMA is faced with multiple challenges, such as coordination challenges with multiple agencies within the Central, State, District, Local, NDRF, SDRF, Armed Forces organizations, Inadequate infrastructure, Limited resources, Security concerns, Communication difficulties, managing the physical and psychological impact on refugees and victims, Weather and environmental conditions and limited access to medical care.
Blockchain and Artificial Intelligence can be game changers here. Using a blockchain based, AI driven tool can offer benefits like Enhanced situational awareness, Improved decision-making, Faster response times, Better communication and collaboration. Blockchain can provide a secure and transparent record of all transactions, while AI can analyze the data and provide insights into the disaster response effort. For example, a Blockchain-based system can be used to record the delivery of aid to affected areas, while AI can be used to analyze the data to identify disaster-hit areas and set and benchmark contextual Turn Around Times for future improvement.
Both these technology dimensions come together synchronously within InciDyne. InciDyne was a showcased solution at the G20 Expo in Gandhinagar, India, and is generating tremendous interest from disaster management agencies across G20 nations.
G20 participation and Recognition
InciDyne, Paramount’s AI and blockchain driven disaster risk management solution, was a marquee product presented at the G20 Expo in India in April 2023. Identified as a product of key importance by the NDMA (National Disaster Management Authority), India and the G20 organization, Paramount was invited to present InciDyne’s capabilities and functionalities at a dedicated booth during the expo.
InciDyne was presented to G20 delegates, Directorate and Ministry functionaries as well as other stakeholders and generated a phenomenal level of interest, culminating in an award from the Director of the NDMA, Mrunalini Shrivastava.
