Performance Engineer

Duties: 

Provide performance analysis and tuning for Sybase applications running on AIX (IBM UNIX). Perform TriZetto Facets data model Load Runner/Performance Center ODBC scripting and performance testing with TriZetto Facets Computer Associates Workload Manager batch scheduler. Resolve performance and stability issues in the performance test environment and lead performance defect triage. Understand and define scope of work for the testing team, develop test strategy for the product features under consideration, develop test plans, design test cases and execute them. Extend the proprietary test harness and framework for test case automation, and develop the performance/stress/functional testing tool further to enhance the testing capabilities of the tool so that the tool can be fully utilized for the advanced requirements of the project. Provide performance tuning while adhering to the technical design specifications using the following technologies and applications: SQL-SERVER, SSIS, SSRS, UNIX/LINUX shell scripts, PL/SQL, SQL Developer, SQLPLUS, TOAD, HP Performance Center, SOAP Scripting, and Microsoft Office. Develop and execute performance tests including load, stress, endurance, fail-over, and interoperability. Deliver application systems that meet the performance and throughput requirements of business stakeholders. Create reports to document performance metrics, test results, analysis, and recommendations. Monitor performance of production systems. Use enhanced proprietary automation framework to suit product and environment set-up needs, design and develop automation scripts for test cases. Debug / triage bugs logged by a customer by tracking down the source of the reported problems, including root cause analysis of the defects if necessary. 

Requirements: 

Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field of study, and two (2) years of experience in a related occupation.   

Alternate acceptable combination of education and professional experience: Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field and 5 years of progressive experience in a related occupation.

Professional experience or academic coursework must have included: SQL-SERVER, SSIS, SSRS, UNIX/LINUX shell scripts, PL/SQL, SQL Developer, SQLPLUS, TOAD, HP Performance Center, SOAP Scripting, and Microsoft Office.
